We Specialize In Service Dog Training

Bruce MacWatters, CCDT| Trainer/Owner
My name is Bruce MacWatters and I have been passionate about dogs since childhood. I currently own a mixed breed dog named "Chance". Chance was saved from a kill shelter in Georgia. This was a big change for me and my wife since our previous three dogs were Golden Retrievers. She has come a long way from the scared little puppy. I first became interested in training when I enlisted in the US Air Force as a Military Working Dog Handler in the early 80's. I primarily worked and trained Narcotic Detection Dogs but also have experience training obedience, tracking and personal protection.

Upon leaving the Military, I worked for several Veterinarians as a Veterinary Assistant. I gained valuable skills that helped me to become a better trainer. My career path eventually took me to a long career in Law enforcement. I recently retired as an Investigator with the New York State Police.

I have continued my passion as a professional dog trainer and I am certified with Catch Canine Trainers Academy. Catch is a state certified program out of New Jersey. The course is a combination of academics as well as mentoring with an established trainer.

In addition to operating my own dog training business, I am a part-time Canine Trainer at SUNY Cobleskill. SUNY Cobleskill is one of the only schools in the country that offers a B.S degree in Canine Training & Management.

When I am not training dogs, you can find me and my dog Chance hiking in the Adirondacks. We have also been known to hike the trails of Acadia National Park or any other mountain that has a view and running stream.
